The UN Capital Development (UNCDF) and Bamboo Capital Partners in collaboration with the production company, Documist, have released: "The BUILD Fund; a UNCDF & Bamboo Capital Partners Partnerships” video.

This five minute film provides an inside view of the BUILD Fund, an innovative investment platform. The film features Fabrizio Cometto, Investment Specialist of UNCDF’s Least Developed Countries Investment Platform (LDC-IP), as he conducts his due diligence visit in Uganda, assessing prospective investment opportunities for the BUILD Fund. Viewers are also able to see and hear directly from multiple Uganda-based entrepreneurs who share their visions for growth as well as the situational challenges they face. Jean-Philippe de Schrevel, a managing partner with Bamboo Capital Partners, also offers his insights on the design and strategy of the BUILD Fund. In all, the filmmakers acquired 40 hours of material, which served as the basis for this short film.

By following Fabrizio's due diligence efforts through his mission in Uganda, as well as Jean-Philippe's clear explanation of the BUILD Fund’s role within the global financial architecture to unlock finance for the areas and markets that need it the most, viewers will come to understand why innovative financial solutions are so essential to the effort of leaving no one behind.

Background/Disclaimer: The ability to carry out rigorous due diligence without camera interference was an important prerequisite of the LDC-IP team. Therefore, the Documist filmmakers were only present to film the first five minutes of the due diligence meetings. Additionally, while Documist was invited to join and document the due diligence visit, this invitation was extended and accepted under the condition that Documist not intervene whatsoever with the scheduled work.
